Performing Arts
Sporting Start are now offering schools the option of Dance and Performing Arts programmes. These sessions are to be delivered as part of the curriculum / PPA cover as well as through our after school clubs.
The Performing Arts team is led and coordinated by Emma Thomas. Emma has performed and produced shows in various theatres across the country, including The Manchester Opera House, The Lowry and The Globe (Blackpool) where she has played lead roles in shows such Evita (Eva Peron) and Les Miserables.
Sessions are used to promote healthy lifestyles, self-confidence and team work through the vehicle of Performing Arts.
Examples of sessions currently available include:
- Healthy Lifestyles (Diet, Smoking etc) - PSHE
- The Jessie Owens Olympics (Berlin 1936) - History / PSHE
- Sports Factor, Reality TV
