Who we are
Sporting Start
Sporting Start was set up by Ex-professional Rugby player Chris Irwin. After retiring from professional sport Chris has taught PE and coached sport in schools (4 - 16 year olds).
With rising levels of obesity and lack of sport played by children, Sporting Start was set up to encourage young people to lead more active and healthy lifestyles across Greater Manchester and the surrounding areas.
Encouraging children to lead more active and healthy lifestyles
All coaches and associates of Sporting Start are qualified teachers and or qualified coaches in their chosen sport with experience of working in the educational environment.
