Gifted and Talented Tag Rugby

After visiting 8 schools and delivering Tag Rugby to over 250 children in Salford, Chris Irwin and the Sporting Start team invited 45 Gifted and Talented Tag Rugby players to St Andrews CE Primary school, Boothstown. These children were identified by Chris and the Sporting Start team of coaches as potential stars of the future as they showed skills such as speed, agility, awareness, team work and confidence as well as various other rugby related skills.

The event was a huge success with 40 children from 6 schools attending the afternoon. Both the staff and the children from the various schools fully enjoyed the day as well as the coaches from Sporting Start who delivered a variety of skill drills before organising a mini-tournament for the children to participate in. All children left the event with a certificate of achievement, contact details of local rugby clubs and huge smiles!

Thanks to all 250 children who were involved in the G T Tag Rugby event from the following Salford schools: Broadoak Primary School, St Andrew's Methodist Primary School, St Andrews CE Primary School, Moorside Community Primary School, St Mary's CofE Primary School, Hilton Lane Primary School, Light Oaks Infant School and St. Paul's (Crompton Street) Church of England Primary School.
