"I was also impressed with the organisation. The teaching was of a high standard and delivered at a good pace. All the children were encouraged and the whole tournament had a very positive feel to it.
"We would be very happy to host any sports tournament run by your organisation. The fact that the children received medals or certificates was an added bonus.
"Thank you once again for your efforts."
Judith Roberts, St. Andrew’s (Methodist) Primary School
"Our school recently took part in a number of sessions led by Chris Irwin at Sporting Start as a Gifted and Talented initiative.
"Each of the schools in our cluster group held a whole class two hour session in our schools where pupils were given a chance to practise some rugby skills and techniques in small group tasks and small sided game activities. The whole class was engaged and interested throughout the session which was well organised and run.
"By the end of the session the leader had chosen five pupils who had demonstrated talent and discipline at the sport. They were then invited, along with other chosen pupils from the other schools, to a ‘Celebration Event.’ Again this was a lengthy session which the children thoroughly enjoyed. They engaged in different activities and were given an opportunity to demonstrate and practise their developing skills. It was also used as an opportunity to develop team work with pupils having to work in teams with children from the different schools.
"Throughout these activities I found Chris Irwin and Sporting Start to be very professional and organised- communicating regularly about the activity before the session and well able to run skills sessions with a wide range of age groups and abilities."
Violetta Chandler, Moorside Primary School
"We would like to say many thanks indeed, for the sharing your talent with the children. The initiative and celebration day for us was excellent, in terms of not just the organization, but the opportunity for all Year 6 initially, and then highlighting those that are gifted and talented being given the opportunity to share with those who were equally so. Playing within mixed teams (from different schools) provided the opportunity for each to share skills learnt and value their part as a team player. It has now furthered that opportunity for two to be identified and take part in a further initiative linked with the Olympic Games 2012. Thanks to yourselves the nominations were easier to identify.
"Huge thanks from each and every one of us again."
